I've built 3 so far. The first 2 worked great. The second was to use as an example to try to change the Arduino code. Never got that far. Both went haywire. I think they need flashed to start over. I haven't been able to flash them. I also made a third using Green leds. Everything else the same. When I power it, all the leds are lit. Nothing loads or anything.
I have asked for help in December and again in Feb with no reply. I see lots of replies here so Hope Springs Eternal.

So my first request is: How do I flash the microcontrollers back to factory settings to start over?

I have other ideas but they are worthless unless I can recover my microcontrollers.

Please, Help me Obi Wan. You are my only Hope!

Martin Nation MaxQ DocMaxQ Marty Hey you.

You can reflash Arduino, with another Arduino. There are instructions online.

Thanks so much for my first reply to a post. I am well aware that they need to be flashed or reflashed and that Arduino, in some cases, can do it. Unfortunately Arduino can't flash these because of the corruption or whatever is going on. I have tried numerous times. I have searched online and tried every way suggested. As I said, I thought I would just make another one, at least for now, until I figure out this problem. As I also said, that didn't work for some other reason. I feel I have 3 current options, besides giving up. 1) Ask Grok which may be the best however framing the question isn't easy. 2) Make #4. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. 3) replace the esp8266 on one of the ones that worked.
So, thanks for the input. If you have specific knowledge how to flash them, please let me know.

I am not an expert of any of this. I have three Arduino Uno, can not make them work. Found out that the updated Arduino IDE does not support the older Unos. I have since moved on to the esp32. It will work with the Arduino IDE as long as you have the web address to preference tab.
As far as reflashing Arduino, the process is too lengthy to put here. I had no luck in trying to reflash the Unos. I realize this is probably not help. I struggle with programing and trying to figure out how things work. A lot of research and videos, in just trying to get programs to work.
